How To Add Images To deGusto?
Adding images to posts in the portfolio theme deGusto is as easy as it can be. We upload an image via the WordPress image uploader and just copy and paste the URL of that image. See how easy it is!
First of all we need any image from our computer as the main image of our new post. Images in deGusto will be automatically resized to 520 x 200px on single and archive pages and 240 x 90px in teaser posts on the home page.
STEP #1 – Upload An Image
To upload an image we use the default WordPress image uploader that lets us easily grab images from our computer and copy the URL of that uploaded image.

In some cases it may happen that you get an error message like:
If you see this error, your WordPress upload directory is not writable. You would have to open the directory /wp-content/ of your WordPress installation with your FTP client, create a new folder named uploads and set folder permissions to 777. The upload should work now.
STEP #2 – Grab The Image URL
What we need next is the image URL of our uploaded image. The WordPress image uploader displays the URL after the upload. In case you cannot see the URL like in the image below, click the button File URL and it will appear.

Copy that URL and close the image uploader. Please keep in mind that we do not have to click on Insert into Post. We actually do not want the image in the post content/text but the URL of the image as a value of a custom field.
STEP #3 – Paste The Image URL
All we have to do now is to paste that image URL into the input field Main Image of the deGusto Post Settings box. This custom meta box will do all the work for you and automatically create the necessary WordPress custom fields.

That’s practically all you have to do to add a main image to a post in deGusto. Just save the post now and change to the frontend to see the result.
STEP #4 – The Final Post Image
Our final post image will now be displayed properly. The original foto of this beautiful seƱorita had the size 850 x 565px. It has been automatically resized and cropped to make it fit deGusto theme dimensions.

The half-transparent border overlay adds a nice lighting effect to the image. If you don’t like it, turn it off in the theme options.

Simple enough.
I love the use of the transparent overlay. It really adds a lot to the photo.
Thanks!
