ThemeShift Themes Featured on WordPress.org

I was not sure if it was coming or not. But there it is: The official directory for Commercially Supported GPL Themes. And the even better news is that ThemeShift is on that list!

The images and links are randomly generated on page load and does not give more importance to the big players than to a newbie like me. The directory for commercially supported GPL themes is a great and necessary move by Matt and the WordPress team. Now more developers of commercially supported themes will be encouraged to think about GPL.

ThemeShift is on the list

ThemeShift is already included in the list of theme developers. I’m especially proud of the fact that the folks from WordPress decided themselves to put me on that list.

Who else is on the list?

Who gets on the list?

To be included in the list you should meet the following requirements:

  • Distribute 100% GPL themes, including artwork and CSS.
  • Have professional support options, and optionally customization.
  • Your site should be complete, well-designed, up to date, and professional looking.
  • Include a haiku about yourself to be included.

Congratulations! This is an exciting accomplishment. I am not surprised that you are on the list despite your “newbie” status. Your designs rock!
